Eustace Winner is a young rookie prosecutor who was assigned to take over a number of Miles Edgeworth's cases by the Committee for Prosecutorial Excellence. Despite graduating at the top of his class and receiving many awards during his legal studies, leading him to becoming a prosecutor by the age of 17, he was barely competent and had terrible logic; it would often fall to judge and Committee member Verity Gavèlle, who acted as his assistant, to argue Edgeworth's logic.

All of his accolades were not actually earned; simply being given due to the influence of his father, Excelsius Winner. When Eustace found out the truth, he was initially devastated, but eventually resolved to overcome his corrupt father and improve himself as a prosecutor.
