She was married to Waka's father, an art dealer she had known for a long time. She agreed to marry him even though it was his second marriage.

She is only interested in the value of the Shusaku Mikami estate. Her married life was not a happy one, it became increasingly frustrating for her because of his constant business trips without regard for his family, just as he did with his previous wife.
