Hatamoto of the Tokugawa Shogunate and a friend of Iba Hachiro.
His duties are of a clerical nature for the shogunate, and he does not partake or excel in swordsmanship. Because of this, he is somewhat intimidated by the Shinsengumi, and he only travels to Kyoto to accompany Iba.
