An Epaulette is a decorative tasseled shoulder piece associated to high ranking individuals as an insignia of rank. They consists of a flat seam with a fasten button on top. The edges along are then decorated with strings of laces around it.

Epaulettes are often worn by elite ranking officers and units in European countries. Other nobles such as princes can also be found wearing epaulettes.
