Fear of Commitment

The character is afraid of a long-term commitment to someone, saying otherwise, they are afraid of love. It's not a mental illness and can take different forms, depending on the person.

This fear is usually expressed by the rejection of those declaring their love or wanting to take the relationship to the next level (like marriage), possibly rethinking their actions later, when the fear has diminished.
