Men who have sex with men (abbreviated as MSM, also known as males who have sex with males) are male persons who engage in sexual activity with members of the same sex, regardless of their sexual identity; many men choose not to (or cannot for other reasons) accept social identities of gay or bisexual.

For the purpose of the database, the trait uses the binary understanding of genders, and "Male" refers to a cis man, who was assigned male at birth and identifies as such.
