Pompadour is a style of hair with a large portion sticking out in front. The name comes from Madame de Pompadour. In Japanese popular culture, the pompadour is a stereotypical hairstyle often worn by gang members, thugs, members of the yakuza and bousouzoku, and other similar groups such as the yankii (high-school hoodlums).
