A tale of brood parasitism.

One must wonder, when the cuckoo chick hatches, does it see the face of its mother, or the face of its prey? Do its flailing legs act out of muscle memory, pushing its "siblings" to their deaths in a fit of restless sleep?

Does the chick take simply to take, or take out of fear that it will be given nothing otherwise? Is its hunger so all-encompassing?

Knowledge. Fear. Action.

Hunger.
