Umi's clumsy side has led her to become very popular from both men and women because they see her as a cute puppy that they have to follow around. She was formerly the school's idol, but her popularity has decreased sharply due to her revealing her aggressive personality. On the contrary, this increases the number of fans who are hiding enthusiastically. In the past, Umi was a shy girl. She had a severe complex for wearing her glasses because she thought people saw her as a weird-looking person. Now, Umi usually uses contacts in public. When she dons her glasses, her character completely changes to a belligerent person.

Because of her coward character, Umi can burn like an enraging fire when push comes to shove. Her two-faced nature allows her to win like a veteran in war with her cold-blooded methods. Umi's sensitivity with a will to slaughter her enemies in the battlefield allows her to produce enormous magical power. It can be said that Umi belongs in the top class of the "Mahoutsukai".
