Hitomi and Maria's English professor. He's been a lecturer at Midoriyama Academy for the past 6 months. He and Hitomi both witnessed Maria's kidnapping.

Leland has actually been a member of Snake the entire time. He infected Hitomi with the Ua virus, and contacted Daisuke Endo as an "organ trafficker" to lead him into attempting to kidnap Hitomi. He poses as his leader, Alphard, during the finale while the real Alphard attempts to infiltrate Okoshi Pharmaceutical.
