Main character of episode 1
Ryuusei's father.
A muscular man around his 40's. Despite his appearance, he used to be the village's technician. Now he is taking care of the paddy fields.
Upon hearing about the abandoned building discovered by Ryuusei and Rei, he decides to them for further investigation. Later on in the story, Renji chooses to sacrifice himself in order to keep the incidents there a secret from Kuriyama.
