Nail is actually Mercilia's sister, an illegitimate child of Queen Llend and an elf of the Rift. However, as she is not fiore, she is not considered a candidate for Queen and is outside the royal lineage.

Following a war between her two peoples, Her mixed heritage has made her struggle to find a place to belong.
