Akira is a young author who made a splash as a student with a debut that clinched an award, but he has since hit a creative rut, feeling increasingly trapped in writer's block.

An unexpected call, intended to convey the news of his grandmother's passing, steers him to 'Koyoukan' (Maple Mansion).

The mansion has two requests for the young man:
- Immerse himself as a guest.
- Write a tale within the mansion's walls.
