Akira's father is a tough guy who runs a buckwheat noodle shop.
He is a charming and good-natured man with a bold appearance and open-hearted personality, but he is absolutely forbidden to say anything about his head hair.
He is so pathetically depressed when he is confronted about it that he must never say anything about baldness, no matter what happens to him.
He also has a big crush on Eriko, the mother of Yoshiya, which is obvious to everyone, but he thinks he is hiding it well and doesn't have the guts to make a pass at her. He is a cute old man in a roundabout way.
