Sweet Nothings

Sweet Nothings follows 15-year-old Jacen Tokomato, a young American who moves to Japan with his family after his mother’s remarriage. Struggling with cultural shock, he expects to remain friendless until he meets classmate Daisuke Namura. The two quickly become close, with Daisuke supporting Jacen as he tries out for the school soccer team. But Jacen’s challenges don’t end there—he finds himself falling deeply for a third-year student at his school. Navigating new friendships, burgeoning sexuality, family dynamics, academic pressures, and the complexities of life in Japan, Jacen learns that being a teenager is anything but easy.
