Since humanity's birth on Earth, countless civilizations have risen and fallen, cycling through prosperity and collapse. Now, as people grow rich in both material and spirit, they stand on the brink of a great social transformation. The story unfolds in a small northern country, blessed with a cool climate, clear skies, and a nickname—the 'Star Castle'—for its dazzling nightscapes. Here, a religion called the 'Aster Faith' thrives, preaching reincarnation and the burden of ancient sins against God that force humanity to repeat its mistakes. Two runaway children, Sumire and Shion, flee their kidnappers and live on the streets. They meet a boy named Subaru, the Aster Faith's current leader, revered as a 'God' by his followers. He offers them his hand. 'This meeting must be fate. Will you come with me?'
