Sky Chord

A young boy named Hashigo Yomiya lies on his school's flowerbed, gazing at the blue sky, wishing his existence would vanish from the world. The summer cicadas drone, the sun scorches, and the distant chatter of students fades away. All he wants is the serene azure above—a fleeting peace. A year later, now a truant, he runs away from home, searching for something he lost that day. Arriving at a complex of abandoned buildings, he longs to live freely, unbound by rules, consequences, or the future. Then, on a rooftop that stretches toward the moon like a ladder, he meets a girl with a single wing on her back. She calls herself an angel. “Help me find my lost wing,” she pleads, reaching to the heavens as if making a wish upon a star. This angel, meant to save others, finds herself saved by Hashigo. He receives a feather that grants him a special power. Never could he have imagined that his act of running away would lead him to search for a wing alongside someone he might never have met otherwise.
