In the summer of his third year, Masaru transfers to Kamakura Gakuen, his hometown school he hasn't visited for nearly four and a half years. He used to play 'hero' with his childhood friends Eri, Masaru, and Miyuki, but they've all moved on from that innocent stage. He thinks nothing has changed, but something happened during the years he was gone. 'It's almost time for the athletic festival. Let's make it the best one ever!' Those words from Ako, the school's popular broadcast personality, bring him back to that time. At the lighthouse, his friend Masaru's sister Chiharu touches her left ring finger and asks if heroes exist. He feels a bit crushed, but still hopes things can be like before.
