Tayutama Zero

This is a fairy tale passed down for centuries at a certain shrine—a legend from a distant past whose truth no one can confirm. It tells of Kageharu, the renowned high priest and progenitor of the Yachimata clan; of the White Beast, a creature that understood human speech; and of Kikurami Kami no Hime, leader of the Tayutai. Hundreds of years ago, during an age of war, Kageharu—a Shugendo monk—was tasked by his master Tenkai to subdue the White Beast, a harmful being said to steal food from villages throughout Ashihara no Kuni. After gathering intelligence in Nakatsu Village, he set out for Mount Kouten. The White Beast appeared bearing a great sword and clad in armor, gallant and dignified—a beautiful young girl who left Kageharu spellbound. Realizing she understood his words, he tried to reason with her, but she responded with undeniable killing intent. "Humans betray. Humans are not worthy of trust. I will show no mercy to the disrespectful." His words struck a nerve, and the battle began. Humans or Tayutai—which will survive? This is the story of humans and Tayutai, their once-sought coexistence, and the journey to the end of that dream.
