This is a tale from the past, set in a time between the two great wars. A young man pushes through layers of fallen leaves, rushing through mountain air. He is an Asura, a demon scorched by vengeance. His beloved was brutally murdered, and his eyes burn with revenge as he pursues his enemies deep into the mountains. Who are these foes? They are the sanjins—strange, twisted beings who nest in the remote mountains, unlike town dwellers. This is a story of revenge: a young man, robbed of his love, races across the mountains, dragging not only his enemies but everyone around him into doom.
