Shizuka should be the most responsible member of the Mizuno family, as Yousuke's kind step-mother and Ryouko's mother. However, despite her grief over her husband's death, she seems to be a bit more naturally carefree than her daughter. That hasn't, however, prevented her from becoming lonely. As a result, she encourages Yousuke to visit her often.
