Touru's mother.

She is a good wife and wise mother who loves her only son Tooru with all her heart. She is quiet, shy, and naive, but she loves housework and takes pride and happiness in making her family comfortable.

She knows in her head that it is time to treat Tooru as a full-fledged adult, but she has a hard time letting go of him. Her son describes her as “plain,” and she believes it herself, but in fact she has a neat, unadorned appearance.

She also hides a voluptuous body under her modest clothes, and she is embarrassed by her large, firm hips. She has never had sex with anyone other than her husband and believes herself to be sexually inexperienced.
