Before the start of Episode 3, Eleanor has been able to expose Avalon's deception with Hal's strength. She confessed her feelings to Hal but he turned her down. She then returned to Earth.

Later in Episode 3, she tells Hal the reason that she returned to Earth is to help Hal appeared more in the news. Hopefully Hagana will see him on TV.
