A slave purchased and emancipated by the protagonist shortly after his arrival. Having few memories of her parents, she was sold into slavery as a young child.

Her quiet manner hides her intense fear and distrust of others, a result of a lifetime of poor treatment at the hands of various masters. For this reason, she is devoted to keeping those around her happy, but only because she's afraid of being handled cruelly.

After experiencing the protagonist's kindness, she gradually breaks free of her shell and blooms into an intelligent if still quiet woman, but with a heart-melting smile.
