Sydney Bronson

Sydney was an otter who came from a troubled, devoutly Mormon family. He was a member of Chase's friendship group during their elementary school years and was close to Flynn. Sydney was aggressive and bullying, though it's implied his behavior worsened due to Echo's supernatural forces. He witnessed the suicide of his father, possibly accidentally pulling the trigger of his father's gun during the struggle to stop him from shooting himself. Fearing nobody would believe it was an accident due to Sydney's poor reputation and troubled family, him and Flynn hid the body.

It's later revealed that Sydney's drowning in Lake Emma wasn't an accident. Chase murdered Sydney when the former suspected the latter of trying to kill TJ, believing Sydney to be capable due to his mistaken belief that Sydney murdered his father. Chase's actions are also implied to have been influenced by Echo's haunts.
