Toppara ~Zashikiwarashi no Hanashi~

The player takes the role of Itsukaichi Keiji, a teenager that lives by himself in the town of Tokieda, with his closest living relative being his granduncle, an author and researcher of the paranormal. Our protagonist has the peculiar ability to recognize supernatural beings with ease as well as the ability to see ghosts and other entities not visible to normal humans. Due to a complicated set of circumstances, Keiji has a strong hatred for ghosts and phantoms (also known as youkai), blaming them for the problems in his life.

Keiji's life has taken a bit of a downturn since the death of his parents, and is generally seen as a loner that makes little effort to interact with others. His life suddenly changes direction when a kage-onna by the name of Mikage appears in his house one day, claiming that she is bound to him and that she will be keeping him company.

Mikage's appearance is only the beginning, as our protagonist crosses paths with eight heroines in total as he discovers love, learns why things are the way they are and grows to accept his reality.
